Hydro Jetting Port Charlotte FL
What is Hydro Jetting?
Hydro Jetting or Hydro Jet Drain Cleaning is a process of using a stream of high pressure water inside of a drain pipe to remove a clog and additionally clean the inside walls of the drain pipe. Hydro Jetting is an extremely efficient method of clearing out clogs and keeping the inside drain lines clean.
- High-Pressure Water: A specialized nozzle connected to a sewer jetter machine that generates high-pressure water (up to 4000 PSI) is inserted into the pipes. The high pressure is capable of cutting through stubborn blockages, including grease, tree roots, and other debris.
- Thorough Cleaning: The water jets blast away the built up material inside the pipes, cleaning the entire interior diameter of the pipe. This is more effective than traditional methods like snaking.
- Preventative Maintenance: Hydro jetting not only clears existing blockages but also helps prevent future problems by thoroughly cleaning the pipes, reducing the likelihood of buildup reoccurring.
Hydro jetting is commonly used for residential, commercial, and municipal plumbing systems and is especially useful for severe or recurrent clogs. It’s an environmentally friendly method that doesn’t involve the use of harsh chemicals.
How do you know if you need Hydro Jetting or Hydro Scrubbing?
If you are showing signs of a drain clog or slow drain, the first step would be to have our experienced plumbers inspect the drain line with a plumbing camera. This will show us the location of the clog and the condition of the inside of the drain pipes. Once the drain stoppage is located and we evaluate the condition of the drain line, we will proceed with the process of hydro jet drain cleaning.
We use a hydro jetter with a custom nozzle which we feed into the drain line. The hydro jetter sends a stream of high pressure water through the drain or sewer line to remove debris from the inside of the pipe and clears the clog.
We also use the plumbing camera to view inside the drain line to confirm that the stoppage is cleared and that the inside of the drain lines are clean.
Once the clog is removed, we slowly pull the hydro jetter hose out of the drain line to flush all of the remaining debris out of the system.
The hydro jetter’s high pressure stream is powerful enough to remove the toughest clogs.
Upon completion of the hydro jet drain cleaning process, the drain line should have improved water flow and functionality, with a reduced chance of future clogs.
Will Hydrojet Clear Roots?
The answer is Yes. Hydro jetting is effective at clearing and removing roots from pipes. The high-pressure water streams used in hydro jetting are powerful enough to cut through and remove tree roots that have infiltrated the plumbing system. Here’s how it works:
- High-Pressure Water: The hydro jetting equipment generates water pressure up to 4000 PSI, which is strong enough to slice through and dislodge tree roots that have penetrated the pipes.
- Specialized Nozzles: The nozzles used in hydro jetting are designed to emit water jets in multiple directions, ensuring that the entire interior surface of the pipe is cleaned. Some nozzles are specifically designed for cutting roots.
- Thorough Cleaning: Hydro jetting not only removes the roots but also clears out any debris and buildup in the pipes, restoring them to near-original condition and improving water flow.
- Preventative Maintenance: After removing the roots, hydro jetting can help prevent future root intrusion by thoroughly cleaning the pipes, making it harder for roots to reestablish themselves.
It’s important to note that while hydro jetting is effective at removing roots, it does not prevent them from growing back. After hydro jetting, it may be necessary to take additional measures, such as addressing the source of the root intrusion (e.g., repairing cracks in the pipes or replacing sections of a damaged drain pipe) to prevent future problems.
